Hey everyone,
I launched my blog + newsletter The Contemporary Polymath back in January, and I’ve been relentlessly publishing follow-up posts at least 3x per week since then. It’s something I care deeply about—feeding curiosity, exploring ideas across science, history, philosophy, tech, etc.—but despite the consistency, I’ve seen very little growth.
I’ve tried posting on social media here and there, but honestly, it’s tough. Promoting it feels awkward. I don't want to come off too salesy, and I’m still figuring out my tone and voice.
I’d love it if some of you could take a look at my site and give me some brutal but constructive feedback.
- Does anything turn you off immediately?
- What do you think about the design, writing, or concept overall?
- Is there anything I should tweak to make it clearer, more inviting, or more aligned with the people who'd love it?
Also curious:
- Where would you suggest I post to reach the right kind of audience?
- Has anyone had success with cold outreach for blogs/newsletters—like just messaging folks directly and saying “hey, I write this—thought you might like it”? I’ve considered it but not sure how to go about it without being annoying.
Open to any thoughts. I'm in this for the long haul, but I'd be lying if I said the lack of traction hasn’t been discouraging. Appreciate your time if you decide to check it out.
Thanks in advance!
