HIRING CLOSED
126 made it in by deadline. I picked 31 semifinalists and sent them an email. Also sent the other 95 a mass rejection letter (sorry!) Another dozen or so contacted me via Reddit DM even though I asked applicants not to. I noticed them belatedly and tried to contact all of them too. oh, and three of the applicants didn’t include their correct email address so I was unable to notify them.
I will not be responding about this position any more unless you're one of the semifinalists.
original post follows, edited.
Hi,
I’m hiring somebody to copy words from Word documents and paste them into various CMS like Shopify, WordPress, etc.
Starting compensation is $20-$30/hr depending on fit and efficiency. Only a few hours per month to start.
There is no design or layout work. No development or website design. Text copy and paste. But there are important details. This used to be a link to more information but hiring is now closed
Additional info not mentioned in that article:
- I am looking to hire a person, not a company.
- I’m only budgeting time to go through 50-100 applicants. I’ll remove all contact info from this post after I reach the limit and will stop replying after the 100^(th) comes in. So if you’re considering applying, don’t dawdle.
- That said, don’t rush. I’m screening applicants. Putting your foot in the door telling me you want the position is only worth so much.
- I don’t want you to apply if you’re not qualified.
- I do not want your resume. I do not want links to your work.
- I want you to send me a brief response via REDACTED - hiring closed. I do not want Reddit chat or dm. I do not want you to email me about applying. I’ll check comments here for questions 9am-8pm Pacific time, but don’t want you to apply in a comment. Contact form only.
- Response to what? To this. Respond to these words, and to the words in the link above. Those words try to describe the heck out of the role.
Thanks for thinking of working with me.
-Dan
