Hi,
I'm looking for some Plex Experts to hold my hand through a whole Plex Server setup. I see hundreds of videos and guides on Plex, and every single one does something different. I have the equipment, I just need someone to guide me step by step to get this up and running how I desire.
I want the setup to be as automated as possible. I am part of a server now where I can simply request a movie or show, and it's added within minutes. I can view it from anywhere. I would like this automation so that my Fiancé and family can easily add what they wish to view.
I want a guide / assistance for it all, pick OS for hosting (Linux? Unraid? Docker? Windows? etc..) installing all needed components and setting it up.
Absolute Requirements:
-Torrent Client Bound to VPN Client
-Automation regarding adding content (Discord, Website, Watchlist etc is OK)
-Secure. Cannot be accessed by un-welcome individuals
-Drive redundancy? Raid?
-Available for use outside of local network
Hardware I will be using, must be compatible with your plan:
-Dell OptiPlex 7010 (New version) SFF - i5-13500, 16GB RAM, 256GB NVME (RAM / NVME CAN be upgraded if needed) - Only has 2 SATA Connectors
-4 Bay DAS for Storage. This outputs ESATA to SATA cables, so I am adding this (https://a.co/d/guHIGAv) into the Optiplex to give me a total of 6 Sata Connectors. This DAS itself cannot do RAID, so if I need raid the OS must handle the RAID.
-18TB HDD, 10TB HDD, 8TB HDD, 1 TB 2.5" SSD
-I have other drives and SSD's if needed for a cache drive or something
-I also am adding a 2.5gb PCIE nic, that I would hope is compatible with whatever OS (https://a.co/d/52GUhnk)
I would like this to mostly be done over text chat via discord. That way I can send pics of anything if I run into issues. I will make all accounts needed with my email and password. I will purchase Plex Premium and VPN client if needed to do so.
I am willing to pay $50 for this. $25 up front and $25 when finished. Please be familiar with Plex and have done your own server before!
