My name's Sylvia Frost, and I run The Book Brander, a boutique book cover design firm. My clients range from New York Times best-sellers who've sold millions of copies to new authors just finishing their first book. They all trust me to deliver rock solid branding and compelling book covers.
As my business expands, I'm looking to bring on a junior designer on a contract basis. I will train you on everything you need to know about the book cover market, how I work with clients, and all the design tricks I've learned over the years. You, in turn, will work on creating paperbacks, social media graphics, audio book covers, and eventually book covers themselves. Compensation will be done on a per project basis.
In order to qualify for this position you must have the following:
1.) An example of a movie poster or book cover featuring high-level, seamless photo composite in your portfolio. I am NOT looking for an illustrator at this time. Illustration skills are bonus, but the bulk of my work involves photo-compositing.
2.) An understanding of how to represent a story visually and a passion for books.
3.) ABSOLUTELY NO AI ALLOWED IN PORTFOLIO. Thanks!
